Rope access journal
What to include in a rope-access quote request
A useful quote starts with a clear picture of the building—not a long specification.
1. The exact location
The address helps the contractor understand the surroundings, possible access points and whether the site sits over a pavement, road, courtyard or restricted area.
2. Approximate building height
Floor count is helpful when the exact height is not available. It quickly narrows the likely access method, rope length and crew requirements.
3. Optional project photos
If available, include a full-building view, a close view of the work area and an image showing the ground or roof access. Clear context is more useful than a highly zoomed detail alone.
4. The result you need
Describe the surface and desired outcome: cleaned glass and frames, replaced sealant, repaired render, painted metalwork or an installed banner.
5. Site and timing constraints
Mention busy entrances, public walkways, restricted working hours, permits or coordination with other contractors. These details shape a realistic method and schedule.
